A visit with parents.img053, with story

My first apartment without roommates, was the upper half of a two family house.  One of the two bedrooms became my darkroom, the living room the studio, and window room my production work area.

The owners were quite elderly, close to their 90s, living downstairs, whom I would assist from time to time with the heavier tasks.  Now and then their son, already in his 60s would visit, as he lived far away out of town.

On this occasion I made a family portrait for them, arranged the posing which made an acceptable photograph, but failed to illustrate their relationships.  Leaving the back porch, after taking the formals, I made a more personal, intimate portrait, once they had forgotten I was still there.

Taken with a Hasselblad 500C, with an 80mm F2.8 Zeiss Planar, on Kodak Tri-X panchromatic professional 120 film, in the 1970s.
