Description
It's not very often I return again to re-shoot an image. This tells me I was unsatisfied with the original, and I can do better. This was done on a return trip east, and I packed a special lens to correct the tilt.
Below, I have included two other versions, previously taken. The one converted to black and white, then with a blue wash added, was done with a wide angle, with as much distance from the subject I could go, to shoot level and thus eliminate the vertical distortion. The space wouldn't allow the camera with a 24mm ultra-wide lens to go back far enough, and I settled for a bit of distortion. The other in color, was done as most would have taken it, by pointing the camera lens upwards to include everything. To me a level horizon is important, and the verticals should remain true.
This time I used a 28mm perspective control Nikkor lens, which allows you to control the rise within the lens. It's all manual, the focus, aperture, and alignment control. The result is an image without the tall towers falling backwards through distortion.
Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.

The above photos were taken at the same time, late in the afternoon, while the new larger corrected image was taken earlier on another day, with a different white balance, so that it appears different. the black and white, was a way to mask the color variations in the silos.
