Description
I wish I was the first to see this landscape, but three others beat me to it (you can find them in the top left corner).
Actually to me the landscape was unfinished as a photo until some visitors came to the overlook and gave a sense of proportion and added their humanity to the image. To give a sense of time, I used sepia tone as a reminder of the American West.
Taken in 1973, in my epic ride across America, I stopped wherever and whenever the mood hit me. In those days there wasn't any fee to enter the park and the rules were quite relaxed. The main rule was "don't go to the edge and fall in".
Taken with a Hasselblad 500C with an 80mm Zeiss Planar on Kodak Tri-X 120 panchromatic film. I did take this photo in color, but for the effect of western history, the sepia worked better.
Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.
