Description
Now that it is spring, I have added yet another camera to the bag. This was taken with my converted 720 wavelength digital Panasonic Lumix, which takes images in infrared only.
I had been chasing the sun and clouds on my trip to Ohio. I pulled over on Hamilton Avenue, north of Cincinnati to capture this tree full of new spring growth. The correct angle to avoid distractions like telephone pole wires had me standing in the middle of the street. I had to be cautious of the changing traffic patterns, as the lights alternated from red to green, but I still had time to satisfy the curiosity of some young women, in their car, waiting for the lights to change. Taking a moment to turn towards them I showed them the camera screen, but I don't know what was more unusual to them, the infrared image or the photographer approaching the car to show them.
The image was shot in black and white, but I added a light blue wash as a pleasing effect.
