Description

I now know why it seems the Indiana robins do not migrate in the winter.  They are all feeding from this tree, and from the looks of them, I would say they are well fed.

Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.

There were some obstacles to overcome taking this image...

Birds are flyty by nature, in fact they made the definition of the word.  Getting too close means they all leave.  As this was in town, I had to select a background which would isolate the birds, yet still allow me to gather as many in the image as possible.  Ultimately cropping was key as well. The group was constantly changing numbers and I waited until a bird (the center bird) would be picking up food, which could be seen, as the story was about feeding.  And of course finding a place to park allowing me the time to get the image.  This is one of those shoots, where you keep at it until you think one would work (took 10).  My first parking spot blocked someone, so I had to move again.

Looks easy doesn't it?

The one in the far right looks like a little dead ball, face down in the snow Poor little loner.
I also love that the birds on the left are in a circle!
The other one is an outcast or something?
