Passing styles.img713, with story

My activities took me to Saint Bernard, a minor city within Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, city's limits.  

I was interested in this local barber shop, located inside an apartment building, and stopped for a while.  As I watched the barber doing his craft I wanted to see who might walk by to make the photo more interesting.  As luck would have it, within a half hour these young boys passed by, with their longer hair, making an interesting contrast in life styles.

Taken with my Leica M2 with 90mm F4.0 Elmar, on Ilford FP4 panchromatic black and white film.  This was in the 1970s.

You can see how important timing is for placement of your subjects, but it also means what happens cannot be controlled.  Normally I would have been closer to the subjects, but in this case I was being a documentarist trying to not influence the outcome, patiently parked across the street.
