Route 66 overlook.img458, with story by harrietsfriend Route 66 overlook.img458, with story by harrietsfriend
Somewhere in western USA, possible New Mexico or Arizona, where the low mountains loom in the distance and the road stretches forever, I climbed the hillside to take this image of the roadway, Route 66.

Using a Hasselblad 500C with a 50mm F4.0 Zeiss Distagon, to emphasize the small boulders, and taken on Kodak 400 ASA color negative film, in 1973.  There are other images posted in my gallery under America Route 66.

Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.

Great shot. I always imagines route 66 to be a very busy motorway full of trucks and cars... Surprised to see what looks like an empty road with lovely scenery...

there was this one girl I met on my way out, but on the return trip back the timing didn't work.

A beautiful square, very well put together. I like the way the single power pole leads the eye down through the gap and into the distance.

its a funny point, I had thought about photo shopping the road out, but it was the reason for the photo so I let my original intention stay.
