Weather in Indiana.DSCN2449, with story

We had some strong rain days here in Indiana, USA.  Greasy Creek greatly expanded its volume, height and energy sweeping along immovable items, large trees blown over and uprooted, swept down with the current.  Yet at this curve, amongst the flotsam and forest debris, I found a floating and still turning, basketball. It had found a safe perch to ride out the current, at least for the time being.

We have a few major sports interest in Indiana.  One is basketball, another football, and for many, fast cars. I looked but only found the basketball downstream, and wasn't surprised.

This is the companion photo to yesterday's "Swollen stream".  Taken at a slow shutter speed of 1/20th, the detail was only possible by using a monopod as the rain came down upon me and my camera.
